"Hello everyone! I'm thrilled to announce that Spire's End: Rangitaki is now in mass production. To celebrate this watershed moment, I've created a video showcasing the final prototype. Although video creation isn't my strongest skill, I hope there is something enjoyable amid my long-winded show and tell. Thank you all for being part of this journey!"

September Update
about 2 months ago – Mon, Sep 30, 2024 at 11:04:58 AM

Hey everyone,

I’m excited to share that things are progressing smoothly! The game is 100% complete, and all the files have been handed over to the manufacturer. We’re thrilled with how everything is shaping up.

Currently, the manufacturer is in the prototype phase. I’ve seen videos of all the components except for the playmat, dice, and the Salt & Sea Expansion Pack. I expect to have the physical prototype for approval within the next 30 days.

Once I have the physical prototype in hand, I’ll make a video to give everyone a look at the game and its components! I can’t wait to show you how it’s all coming together.

While I anticipate making some slight aesthetic alterations—minor tweaks, really—I’m confident that the prototype will be approved and ready for mass production by November.

As of now, the timeline remains unchanged. We’re still on track with a tentative delivery estimate of February 2025. Once we enter mass production, I’ll be able to firm up some dates, and we’ll start discussing final surveys and fulfillment.

Since I don’t like to come empty-handed, here is the finalized version of Lyra from the micro-expansion – Salt & Sea up close.

Thank you all for your continued patience and support as we work to bring this game to life!

Development Wraps Up!
3 months ago – Fri, Aug 30, 2024 at 12:04:48 PM

Hey there,

We're thrilled to announce that the game is 99% complete! The only tasks left are a final proofreading edit and a few minor tweaks to some encounters and rule verbiage. I'm holding off on the release, tentatively until next Friday, as I continue to obsess over the question, "Is it too easy? Is it too hard?" I'll be laboring over this for one more week.

We're excited to share that the map illustration—the last official piece of artwork for the game—has been completed, and it looks fantastic! A huge shoutout to Charlie Potter for his exceptional work; we all love how it turned out.

Production is moving along smoothly. The molds for the custom dice are currently being made. The final files for the box, insert tray, gameboard, playmat, and foil wrapper for the Salt & Sea Expansion have all been approved and are now with the manufacturer. At this point, I'm holding onto all of the cards, Chapters 1-3, the expansion, and the Survival Guide, which will be the last item turned over (check out the final look of the Survival Guide below—pages 2-3).

As we come to the end of the development phase, we're all eagerly looking forward to handing this off and seeing it show up on your doorsteps on time in late January. As of today, that timeline is still very much within reach, assuming everything goes smoothly. While things can always change, we are on course.

Thank you for your continued support and patience! ~Greg

Lastly, if you need to update your address, please use the following link to your Backerkit survey. You have plenty of time to make changes—up until right before fulfillment begins at the start of the new year.

Summer Update
4 months ago – Sun, Jul 21, 2024 at 11:05:38 AM

Charlie Potter has completed all his story card illustrations for Spire's End: Rangitaki! You can see both his and Diego's finalized final card art above (card copy is still under review). All story card illustrations are colored, locked, and complete. Whew!

The only illustration left for the entire project is the map for the Survival Guide. Charlie is currently working on it. Then, that will be it.

I could not be more excited by how the game looks. The visual language has strengthened quite a bit since the project began. The colors, themes, and overall tone have really come together. I have everything spread out here on the game testing table, and it's a glorious sight to behold.

This brings me to my next task: additional game testing! If anyone has the time and lives in the Los Angeles area, I would love to schedule some game-testing meetings in the South Bay. If that sounds like something you would be interested in, please DM me, and we can try to set something up. If that becomes too difficult, I may also set up some Zoom/facetime meet-ups to do some print and play sessions. But first, please only DM me if you are local!

We are rolling into the final phase—tweaks, balance, edits - all the fun stuff. Until next time! ~Greg

Thank You Diego Frías!

Excited to announce that Diego Frías has completed his work on Spire's End Rangitaki! For those keeping score, he has done over 70 illustrations for the game since February 16th, 2023. (The final illustration is shown above!)

But our work is never done. Diego is currently doodling away on the first expansion for Rangitaki: Salt & Sea, and the fifth expansion for Hildegard: The Pumpkin Patch!

I can't wait to see what's coming next!
